My goals for Semester 2

Semester 1 Reflection

Strengths:
In the first semester, I felt like I had a strong skill for coming up with ideas and executing my projects. I had good, fun ideas that were easy enough for me to handle but still challenging enough to keep things interesting. I also felt like I picked up the wheel pretty quickly. The first time I used it, I made a pretty damn good cup, and as the year went on, I found wheel throwing to be easier than a lot of people did.

Things to Work On:
One of the biggest things I need to improve is my execution. I come up with solid ideas and start strong, but as the project goes on, my work tends to get sloppier. I want to put more effort into making sure my execution stays consistent from start to finish. That’s my main goal going into the second semester—keeping that same level of effort throughout my projects.

Goals for Semester 2

  1. Stay ahead of my projects – I don’t want to end up scrambling to finish everything at the last minute again, like I did in semester 1. That was terrible, and I don’t want to repeat it.

  2. Get more organized – I need to plan better so I can keep my work on track and not get overwhelmed.

Plans to Execute

  • Make a Plan First: Before starting any project, I’m going to sketch out a plan with the steps I need to take and a list of materials I’ll need.

  • Take My Time: I’m going to slow down and make sure I do everything properly, like slip & score, so my pieces don’t fall apart.

  • Stay Consistent: I remember when I made my coil vase, it started off strong, but as I went up, it got sloppier. I don’t want that to happen again, so I’m going to focus on keeping my work clean and polished the whole way through.
